On a crisp Winters morning, Nikki her mum and myself met at the charming Elswout Country Estate, just on the outskirt of Haarlem town in the Netherlands. Nikki had asked me weeks prior, to book a maternity session with me as I was the only person she was comfortable enough to do it with, and to plan it while I was on holiday in the Netherlands. Obviously I did everything I could to make it happen.
It was the most beautiful Winters day, crisp and cool, but not freezing, with soft clouds diffusing the Winter sun. It really was perfect. We began at the woods where the light fluttered through the branches of the trees. It was quite magical
"Elswout was founded in the mid-17th century by Carel du Moulin, but the Amsterdammer Gabriel Marcelis completed the first construction of Elswout. Many great architects have contributed to the ever-changing architecture over the centuries. Over the years, the style of the country estate changed along with the changing trends; from Dutch Baroque garden to landscape park".
We walked around the property of Elswout Country Estate, capturing beautiful moment as we went. The lighting was just perfect, I couldn't have asked for more as a photographer.
My favorite part of my job, is getting the chance to capture the most special moments of my clients, and in this case friends, lives. It is the biggest privilege.
